Projects
CSAW: Research and design of an optimized submerged arch welding column to improve efficiency in the manufacture of large offshore wind towers.
Aim:
The aim of the project is to research, design, and calculate a submerged arch welding column with a reach of up to 25 meters that allows for safer, more accurate, and more efficient welding of sections of offshore wind towers up to 50 meters high, reducing structural deformation and manufacturing times.
Project subsidised by:
LEC: Deign and validation of a conical sections assembly line for the manufacture of large wind towers.
Aim:
The aim of the project is to design and validate a sections (cans) assembly machine capable of safely, accurately, and efficiently joining cylindrical and conical sections of wind towers weighing up to 500 tons, optimizing alignment, reducing assembly times, and improving the quality and reliability of the manufacturing process.
Project subsidised by:
ETS: Design, calculation and validation of a positioning equipment to improve the process of surface treatment of wind turbine sections.
Aim:
The aim of the project is to develop a new machine that will enable the operations of painting and surface treatment of large wind towers to be carried out in a more agile and safer way. The equipment will be self-loading and self-aligning, with a capacity for sections of 8 metres in diameter and up to 400 tonnes..
